Charlotte Edmonston
Educator & Instructional Designer

about.
I graduated from high school in 1990, but didn't finish my bachelor's degree until until 2005. I took a rather large break from being a college student and ran a daycare in my home when my children were young. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Business Education and began my teaching career when my youngest child went to kindergarten.
I only taught business education for two years and then switched districts and began teaching mostly math courses. Four years later, I switched districts again and began teaching nothing but math courses.
In 2012, I earned a Master of Science in Mathematics. At that point, I swore I was never taking another class.
Apparently, I lied. In the summer of 2019, I begin working toward a Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology.
I currently teach high school and dual-credit credit math courses, as well as AP and dual-credit computer science courses. I am the one that all the other teachers come to when they need technology help.
I also serve as the district's Positive Behavior Support Coordinator. That means I'm also the one that other teachers come to when they need help dealing with students.
Basically, my knowledge is vast. I have a wealth of experience in technology as well as education and behavior interventions. I know how to develop courses and design trainings. I strive to integrate technology with education in order to enrich learners' educational experiences.
I love to share my knowledge with others. I am a teacher. That's what we do.
My communication, design, and writing skills are strong. I have experience working with school faculty, students of various ages, and administrators in a wide range of settings from elementary to college levels. I love educating others.
BUT...
The face of education is changing and I have the advantage of being a teacher with extensive training in student behavior who understands (and loves) technology.
I began my Instructional Design and Technology degree thinking it would allow me to continue the job that I have now and work part-time to supplement my income.
Now, I am considering other paths. I'm not sure which one I will take, but I'm excited at the prospect of sharing my knowledge with others in new ways.

capstone project.
The School Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training was developed for the high school special education department of the Braymer C-4 School District. The training presentation and supplemental job aids will be used during yearly in-service teacher trainings for junior high and high school staff members. The training materials will also be added to the district’s collection of training modules in a password-protected section of their website for individual viewing by those that cannot attend the initial presentation and will be available to all staff throughout the school year.
